In case you missed the inaugural Lasker Lecture on the Hutchinson Center’s campus last November, you can now view videos of the entire event online.

Legendary biologist and two-time Lasker laureate Dr. Sydney Brenner presented a talk entitled “Reading the Human Genome: Genes and Brains.” Afterward, Dr. Marc Van Gilst, a Center basic scientist, presented "The New Genetics of Metabolism and Disease."

Watch the 2009 lectures by visiting the Lasker Foundation’s YouTube Channel or CenterNet’s scientific community homepage.

The foundation chose the Center to launch the annual lecture series, which will explore fundamental scientific questions and elucidates topics of pressing interest in medical research and clinical practice. The foundation plans to offer future lectures on a rotating basis at top research institutions across the country, with each event consisting of a pair of presentations: one by a Lasker laureate and one by a young researcher.
