The Global Oncology Program hosts monthly lectures featuring experts on cancer and other diseases that have worldwide impact. Lectures are typically held the fourth Monday of the month at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
As gene therapy gains traction for the treatment of cancer, genetic and infectious diseases, the need to consider how this next-generation treatment can reach patients around the globe becomes paramount. The Global Oncology experience has informed gene therapy of barriers to democratizing treatment, and a new generation of research developing tools to address these problems early on can benefit patients everywhere.
