The Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion partners with employee and research teams to elevate inclusion at Fred Hutch and our recruitment for community-related studies. These partnerships are critical in our continued growth and success in accomplishing our mission.
ODEI encourages our colleagues across the Hutch to join one of our outstanding affiliated Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). ERGs are voluntary, employee-led groups that serve as a resource for employees by fostering a diverse, inclusive workplace aligned with organizational mission, values, goals, business practices, and objectives. ERGs are traditionally centered on specific issues and/or communities, usually the voice of communities that are less represented or empowered within the organization, or in the greater community. Hutch ERG’s have been catalysts for DEI efforts and progress, with Diversity Council contributing to this work for some twenty years!
Fred Hutch's Diversity Council is focused on giving a voice to racial and ethnic minorities, promoting employee engagement through diversity and inclusion educational initiatives, and celebrating successes through inclusive representation in our internal and external communications.
FHREE provides a space for LGBTQIA+ Fred Hutch employees for focused discussions and events that frequently intersect with race and other disparities equity work.
Hutch United was created in 2013 by scientists, for scientists. It hosts events and seminars, provides community, serves as a hub for mentorship, offer scholarships, and provides educational outreach opportunities. Anyone who wants to promote the success of underrepresented minorities in science is invited to join.
