Pediatric Moving Beyond Cancer to Wellness 2016

Survivorship

Join us Saturday, October 8

Thank you to those who were able to attend the Seattle Children's and the Fred Hutch Survivorship Program's fourth pediatric Moving Beyond Cancer to Wellness event on Saturday, October 8.  This free educational conference featured breakout sessions led by experts in the fields of nutrition, fertility and reproductive issues, cognitive function and school issues after cancer, emotional and mental health, late effects from treatment and transition to adult survivorship. View the presentation slides.

The event was attended by nearly 120 individuals affected by cancer. The post-event evaluations reflected overwhelmingly positive impressions; requests and comments will be considered in planning future events. Here's what attendees had to say:

"The patient panel was helpful for me to hear their view points, especially when the panelist's diagnosis was same as my child's."

"Lots of information, well presented, easily understood."

"The patient panel was amazing, but really all of it was excellent. As a healthcare professional it was very helpful to be at an event hearing family concerns."

"Answered questions I didn't know I had, helpful information for transitioning to an adult survivor."

"I enjoyed the breakout sessions following the overview. Dr. Chow and Leslie did a great job of setting the tone and providing information about the survivorship clinic and general overview."

"Great information about nutrition"
