Hutch School Summer Camp

During the summer we offer a place to be around kids your age, a place to have fun, and a safe environment where everyone is going through the same transition. You will meet friends from all over the United States and have a great time building friendships!

The Hutch School Family Member Day Camp starts on June 26 and goes for 8 weeks until August 18. Camp takes place Monday through Friday from 10am-3pm. We all meet daily at Hutch School located at 527 Minor Ave N., Seattle, WA 98109 (adjacent to the Pete Gross House) and then take off from there for the daily adventure.

What do we do at Summer Camp?

Summer Camp is all about having fun! We go on field trips almost every day and spend as much time outside as possible. We will visit famous landmarks in Seattle, awesome parks and great beaches. We will also spend time doing parkour, touring Safeco Field, ice skating, swimming, making art projects and tons of other fun activities.

What should I bring?

Check the weekly Summer Camp calendar to see if anything special is needed for the day. On beach and swimming days you will need to bring a swimsuit and towel.

We ask everyone to bring a sack lunch to camp every day. We are always out on adventures, so please do not bring food that requires cooking.

Of course, if there is a day when appointments take precedence over making a lunch — we are able to provide one that day!

How do I sign up?

Registration for summer camp can happen any time from now until the 19th of June. If you are unable to register during this time, please come any time between 9:15 am and 10:00 am on the first day of camp, the 22nd of June. If you are unable to attend the registration days or if you arrive later in the summer you can register for camp any day, 15 minutes prior to the start time of camp. There will be three staff members for camp — Stephanie VanderVelden, current Program Coordinator for Hutch School and two Summer Camp counselors. Children enrolling in camp must have had completed kindergarten.

What else should I know?

There is no charge for summer camp.

Camp will always begin and end at the same time but our daily destination may change without notice due to weather, etc.

You are always welcome to call the Hutch School cell phone at 206.240.9835 to get a hold of us while we are out having fun.

If you have any questions, please contact Stephanie VanderVelden at Hutch School: (206) 667-1400 or See you this summer!
