Engaging with the community is a key priority for the OCOE. We collaborate with partner organizations to plan and implement events and share information, strategies and resources to expand our collective knowledge on the health disparities affecting different communities.
Community Grant Writing Workshop
We build sustainable outreach and research programs with diverse communities throughout Washington State. By pooling resources, we can build greater cohesion between local communities and research organizations.
In January of 2014, we implemented our first annual two-day grant-writing workshop. Community partners are paired up with a Fred Hutch/University of Washington Cancer Consortium faculty member to help them through the process of successfully writing a program grant.
We also develop and disseminate a small grant RFA, ranging from $2,500-$8,000, to fund community organizations as they implement a program in their communities. To ensure success, we offer technical assistance to community organizations as they implement their programs.
Find out more about the workshop and grant application process, including guidelines and requirements, read the Request for Applications and see the Community Grant Application Template.
Prior to attending grant writing workshop, you must complete a Letter of Intent to Apply.
Our next workshop will take place in 2020, check back for details.
