An audience of more than 200 cancer survivors and caregivers attended “Moving Beyond Cancer to Wellness,” the annual seminar of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center Survivorship Program.
Held on the Hutchinson Center campus Saturday, June 18, it was the fifth time the Survivorship Program has hosted an open-to-the-public event. The program featured:
- Keynote by Jerry Hanks and Bobbi de Cordova-Hanks, a husband-and-wife team who co-authored a book on surviving and caregiving
- Sessions led by Dr. Scott Baker, Survivorship Program director, and Dr. Karen Syrjala, program co-director, including Syrjala’s popular breakout session on coping with chemobrain
- Panel discussions and other breakout sessions—topics included nutrition for cancer survivors.
