The Hutchinson Center has a new claim to fame—rave reviews in the interactive world of social media.

Last week, the Web site Onlinecourses.org named the Center among its “100 Best Science Twitterers.” The wide-ranging list also includes Twitter feeds from Wired and Scientific American magazines, Pacific Science Center in Seattle, the National Institutes of Health, Johns Hopkins University and many others.

The popular Twitter service enables schools, nonprofit organizations, media outlets, businesses and, of course, individual people to send out brief, frequent dispatches about their goings-on. In the Center’s case, the External Affairs team publishes near-daily updates on various topics designed to educate the public, inspire support for our scientific mission and build relationships.
