Many cancer patients try to quit smoking after diagnosis but can’t because of nicotine’s stronghold on their bodies. Others are so stressed they continue to use cigarettes as a crutch. Researchers at Fred Hutch and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance know that smoking cessation is even more important after a cancer diagnosis and are coming up with new ways to help patients stop.
