FAT bastard wine sales benefit breast cancer research

Wine company will donate a portion of sales through October to the Center

For the ninth year in a row, when you purchase a bottle of FAT bastard wine through the end of October, a portion of the proceeds will benefit breast cancer research at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. The wine company will donate 25 cents for every bottle sold in a restaurant or retail store—up to $75,000—to national and local organizations committed to breast cancer research, education, treatment and support.

The largest study of its kind by Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center scientists to evaluate the effect of red versus white wine on breast-cancer risk concludes that both are equal offenders when it comes to increasing breast-cancer risk. The results of the study, led by Hutchinson Center researchers, appear in the March issue of Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention.
