VIDD Thanks Leslie Sandberg, outgoing Division Administrator

Leslie Sandberg

Leslie Sandberg

After nearly two years of dedicated service, Leslie Sandberg will, effective February 7th, be leaving VIDD to assume the Division Administrator role for the Center’s Clinical Research Division (CRD).

Leslie has been the VIDD Division Administrator since February 2012. She brought a wealth of leadership and management skills, including over twelve years of research administration at the University of California, Davis and its Medical Center. She brought to VIDD longstanding experience in many areas, including research administration, information technology, international collaborations supporting global health initiatives, human resources and organizational development, and consultation to private and non-profit sectors. Her list of accomplishments are impressive and varied, dating back to 1994 when she led the first telemedicine demonstration before Congress to more recently being the recipient of the University of California, Davis Chancellor Award for Excellence. Leslie has with distinction and dedication overseen the administrative management services for VIDD, including planning, internal communications, budget development and management services, human resources and personnel management, shared resource oversight, space planning and overall supervision of administrative personnel. She has represented VIDD at the Center and community level and played an integral role in developing the new VIDD website, overseeing both content and design.

Leslie has provided vital guidance to VIDD members and led the establishment of an improved, more streamlined administrative structure and efficient operations within the Division. On behalf of VIDD, we wish to extend our appreciation to Leslie for her loyal support and thoughtful approach, and we will miss her but know that she will not be too far away. She will be a great addition to the CRD administration and we congratulate her as she launches a new course within the Center.
