Research Focus

Dr. Triplette has studied racial disparities in coronary artery disease, chronic lung disease in HIV patients, and community-based screening for HIV and lung cancer.  His current collaborative studies focus on lung cancer screening practices in underserved and at-risk populations. He is leading University of Washington/Seattle Cancer Care Alliance efforts to examine the current implementation of lung cancer screening and better understand barriers, facilitators and potential disparities in screening practices. He is part of an ongoing clinical study of biomarkers of lung-related disease and has an ongoing interest in lung cancer in special at-risk populations, including immunosuppressed patients with HIV or prior organ transplant.

Clinical Expertise

Dr. Triplette’s clinical focus is the screening, diagnosis and staging of lung cancer, pulmonary complications of malignancy and stem cell transplantation, and the critical care of oncology patients. He is involved in mentorship of several medical students and fellows with interest in screening and lung disease in immunosuppressed patients.
