"Statistical analysis of DNA microarray data"
The rapid advance of genome-scale sequencing has diven the development of methods to exploit this information by characterizing biological processes in new ways. Recently, DNA microarray technology has been used to simultaneously monitor the expression levels and genotypes of thousands of genes. The goal for my research is to develop efficient statistical methods to analyze data sets of great complexity from microarrays. This is a highly interdisciplinary study that will require expertise in molecular biology, genetics and biostatistics. We are currently in the process of study the differences in genetic susceptibility in rat mammary cells to chemical carcinogenesis.
